"Awaba" is a real head turner. She was designed and built by the very talented Master Shipwright, Phillip Heaney.

She was built up in Lake Macquarie, hence her aboriginal name coming from the Awabakal nation, meaning lake.  

She is 32ft long, 12ft wide and has a draft of 4'2".  She was built using Oregon double planked and epoxy glued and trenneled.   The keel, stem and sternpost are all made from sustainably sourced Blackbutt. She has a 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine which gives her a cruising speed of 7 knots.  Accommodation consists of 2 single beds forward with inner spring mattresses, an ensuite and hanging locker. In the main saloon area you will find a fabulous galley on both sides. A large twin drawer fridge/freezer and work bench is on the port side and a sink, and starboard side is a sink and twin gas cooktop and oven.  There is plenty of storage on both sides as well.  Forward of the galley is a super comfortable dinette on the port side with a beautifully crafted Huon Pine and Rosewood trimmed dining table. The helm station is starboard side with a door giving direct access to the deck.

'Awaba' has 3 automatic plus one bilge pump, deck wash, a 25 L hot water system, battery charger when on shore power, 2 x 130 watt solar panels and 4 x 6 volt house batteries and a separate 12 volt engine battery. She has a Muir electric anchor winch, Furuno chart plotters, compass, gauges for water, fuel and sullage, a TV/DVD Player discreetly tucked away, and VHF radio.
